Westport. Now, 55 years later that event is being commemorated with a

the Foundation is the same as that of the overall Toys for Tots Program: i.e.,
to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less
fortunate youngsters that will assist them into becoming responsible,
productive, patriotic citizens. Bob and Carol Russell of Westport Rivers
Vineyard and Winery spread some cheer of their own with wine and beer
tastings, adding a sparkling touch to a fabulous buffet from Marguerite's
Restaurant. Outgoing president John Long praised the organization's
140 members for their support and commitment to the community at large, and
said he was proud to have served them as president. Incoming president Michael Sullivan said he
planned to continue the efforts of previous presidents and support the organization's
membership growth through outreach and monthly programs. Sisters of the Wool, a
