Cold air and a clear night provided perfect conditions for star gazing as Tom Hanigan (left) of the Astronomy Club of Southern New England gave the young and young-at-heart a spectacular tour of the night sky. The Trustees Of Reservations, fresh from winning town support for a 99-year lease, played host to a Free Evening of Star Gazing and exploration at the Westport Town Farm. UFO’s were conspicuously absent.

Astronomy club members guided visitors on an interactive cosmic journey through the the constellations, moon, planets and other features of the night heavens. Is there life on Mars? Maybe, but the moon is definitely not made of green cheese. And ET? Yeah, he went home.
