The Acoaxet Chapel Association will have a meeting in the fellowship hall following the morning service on Sunday, Aug. 1. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the direction members want the morning service to take. The Acoaxet Chapel is located at 36 Howland Road.

Bible Study - Wednesday morning and evening Bible studies are now in
recess for the summer.
The morning study will resume in September,
continuing their study based on the book "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyers. The evening study will resume on September 15 and will start a study of Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians.


Our Sunday morning service at 9:30 a.m. is a modern, interactive worship
service with contemporary music, learning groups, and participation
encouraged. At 7:00 p.m. we offer a more traditional, reflective service
with classic hymns and sermon.

The food pantry is open to help families throughout the community. If you
or someone you know is in need of food, please call Lisa at (401)
624-1847.Donations of food or money are always needed and appreciated.

The Westport Point United Methodist Church will hold the 29th Annual Clam Bake on Saturday, July 31st.  The menu includes farm raised Narragansett Bay clams, sausage, hot dog, potato, corn, sweet potato, stuffing, and brown bread.  The cost is $30 or $40 to add lobster.  Chowder and drinks will be served at noon and the bake begins at 1:00 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased at Partners Village Store or by leaving a message at the church office at (508) 636-2036.  The Clam Bake is held at the church, 1912 Main Road at Westport Point.

St. John the Baptist Church Annual Parish Fair. This perennial Westport favorite will run Saturday, August 7th 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, August 8th 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

 

St. John’s pulled a rabbit out of its hat with last year’s Parish Fair. t13.jpgMarcus the Magician put on a marvelous Saturday performance while the raffle quilt brought in thousands of dollars to support church-sponsored programs. Great weather and lots of activities drew hundreds of visitors to the big tent on Main Road.
